PROJECT BRIEF
We were happy to provide postproduction services for the award winning MOWI campaign featuring Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju.
The campaign was mostly shot in front of an LED wall utilizing the many advantages of virtual production, but the background still needed some VFX work to be done. As the best take of one shot in one of the many films contained an error in the playback of the LED screen, we had to rotoscope the actors and replace the erroneous parts of the background. As there was no original plate, we had to stitch the background together from multiple takes.
OUR APPROACH
We also had to add some extra products into a key-shot of one of the campaign film, because the refrigerator was missing part the interior. We had to 3D object track the moving door and add some rows to visually fill the empty white space of the door. The tricky part was that we couldn’t work with a 3D model of the product, so we had to roughly approximate the package as 3D geometry, 3D track the moving door and map the texture from the plate onto that. To visually sell the shot we rendered an additional reflection pass, so that the high gloss parts of the packaging reflect the light dynamically as the real packages did in “real life”.
