PROJECT BRIEF

KAGes, the operator of Styria’s largest network of hospitals, commissioned us to create a film detailing the planned expansion of the Graz LKH hospital as part of their long-term development initiative, “Bauprogramm 2040.” The film was intended for presentation at KAGes’s annual congress and for broader external use, serving as a key communication tool to engage stakeholders and support the effort to secure the €1.6 billion in funding required for the construction phase between 2025 and 2040.

OUR APPROACH

Our film team began by working closely with KAGes to understand the core objectives and content requirements of the project. A critical aspect of the brief was to ensure that the film included specific departments and infrastructure central to the expansion plans, as well as on-camera interviews with three of KAGes’s senior board members to lend authority and personal insight to the narrative.

To provide a strong visual foundation, we captured extensive aerial drone footage of the existing hospital facilities, offering a clear and engaging overview of the current state of the site. This footage helped ground the project in its present context while setting the stage for the proposed transformations.

In collaboration with KAGes’s architectural team, we also received detailed CAD data outlining the future development plans. From this data, we produced stylized 3D architectural animations that allowed us to vividly visualize the planned expansions and modernizations. These sequences were seamlessly integrated into the film to provide viewers with a clear, forward-looking perspective on what the future of the hospital will look like.

The final film combined real-world footage, expert insights, and compelling 3D visualizations to effectively communicate the vision behind Bauprogramm 2040—helping KAGes inspire confidence, drive engagement, and mobilize support for this critical healthcare infrastructure initiative.
