Each year we work with Fifteen Seconds to push the boundaries and deliver an event opener, event highlight clip and live camera operating/mixing that matches the innovative spirit of the festival.
This year, our opening projection mapping was bigger and better than ever - in the months leading up to the event, our motion team worked with a minature version of the stage backdrop to create the perfect visuals for the shape and size of the backdrop, as well as taking into account a variety of extrusions and semi-transparent areas of the backdrop. Composer Matthias Müller created a great track that added to the impact of the opener overall.
This year, we decided to take a more conceptual approach to the highlight video. Working closely with the FSF team leading up to the festival, we created a treatment for the highlight video that would stand out compared to that of previous years.
The logical choice for the Mindconsole booth/stand this year was a HTC Vive experience. Our motion/VR team customised our Virtual Reality Turbine experience to be used by hundreds of people throughout the festival's two days.
