Michael Hollinger dealt with in his theoretical Diploma with the Motion Designer Pablo Ferro, respectively with his early works of the 1960 – 70s. The insights refer to a development of a film-immanent style which proceeds since the early days of the movies. Ferro collaborated with directors like Stanley Kubrik, Jonathan Demme, Norman Jewison, etc. and produced critical highly acclaimed Title Designs and Trailer. He brought the Multiscreen to the cinemas in the late 1960ies and he was one of the first designers to work with Quick Cuts. In his opinion as montage-artist, there is no such thing as bad footage, but bad ideas. The analysis of his works in the areas of Trailerdesign, Multiscreen and Typography brought the conclusion that good work is based on good concepts and that such concepts will allways be current. Such works will allways outlast current trends and be adequate after 40 years.
