MERCEDES BENZ FASHION WEEK BERLIN A/W 2010

Once again Fashion in Berlin. This time MBFWB A/W 2010. Working for in_digital media on site in the wonderfull tent at Bebelplatz. Our tasks covered editing of 2 min clips, the production of the Sponsor Reel DVD as well as full Designer-house DVDs. In addition to that we produced an animated Watermark. As our experience grows the show gets smoother.

As the Mercedes Benz Fashion Season proceeds, mindconsole is getting deeper involved into the video production by our friends at in_digital.

One part of us was working on location as editor and troubleshooter, while the other was animating the short intros for the fashion-clips.

The “Bundes Immobilien Gesellschaft” holds an annual Cocktail Reception to give its customers and partner a nice evening together.For this occasion we were assigned with the production of visual-material and the apropriate live set on location (Arsenal, Vienna).

Themes for the set were the BIG – logo and buildings which belong to the company (e.g. MUMUTH and ZMB in Graz, Finanzministerium and Palais Epstein, Vienna).

Our adequate VJ-Set consisting of 3d animation and photographies added the modern and fresh special something to the event.

After the fruitful cooperation with in_digital for several Fashionweeks (watch out our video section), they hired us to work on type-animations (names of the winners) for the Young Hollywood Award 2009, which where displayed at the actual event on several screens.

The practical part of the Diploma by Michael Hollinger was developed in close cooperation with the Director Martin Kroissenbrunner. The Title Design for the independent movie “Licht in leeren Häusern” depicts an reflection of the theoretical Diploma and uses the technique of projection; a theme that repeats itself in the plot. (in collaboration with LOOM)

BAD FOOTAGE? BAD IDEAS! PABLO FERRO

Michael Hollinger dealt with in his theoretical Diploma with the Motion Designer Pablo Ferro, respectively with his early works of the 1960 – 70s. The insights refer to a development of a film-immanent style which proceeds since the early days of the movies. Ferro collaborated with directors like Stanley Kubrik, Jonathan Demme, Norman Jewison, etc. and produced critical highly acclaimed Title Designs and Trailer. He brought the Multiscreen to the cinemas in the late 1960ies and he was one of the first designers to work with Quick Cuts. In his opinion as montage-artist, there is no such thing as bad footage, but bad ideas. The analysis of his works in the areas of Trailerdesign, Multiscreen and Typography brought the conclusion that good work is based on good concepts and that such concepts will allways be current. Such works will allways outlast current trends and be adequate after 40 years.

mindconsole worked on behalf of the “Verein zur Förderung von ungeahnten Potentiale” on an Imageclip for “Panthersie für Europa”. Together with Stefan Schmid we produced a short narrative which combines multiple techniques like Stopmotion and keyed Bluebox-elements with HD-material.
